Yoga

I Yoga'd last night.  Or did I do Yoga?  When I was doing it, was I Yoga-ing?  Whatever.  It was crazy.  Let me just say, I spent more time in the Downward Dog position, then I ever cared to...

Then... Mark, the cool dude who was instructing our class, got a little crazy... we were working on "balance" and "flexibility."  I can now tell you that I have very little flexibility in the way Mark was posing me... and even less balance.  It was quite comical.  There I was in the back of the room, between Renata and Jennifer... in the Eagle Pose.  Though NOT nearly was graceful as this lady... and not nearly as pink either.  I was kinda loving watching the people around me attempt this one too... hilarious.  And then there was the man next to Jennifer who sounded like he was about to have an orgasm... I was trying to be calm and find my inner balance... the man and his noises were not helping!

Personally, my favorite was Child's Pose.  This is the pose that we were to return to if we felt that our bodies needed to rest.  If a pose was to difficult or strenuous, Mark would remind us that Child's Pose was always an option.  So... there I laid, face down, for half the class.  Haha... just kidding! I actually rocked it!  I am so down for next weeks class.  It was amazing.

At the end, as we laid there, face up, eyes closed, in the dark dance gym, surrendering our bodies to gravity (Mark, I thought that was natural- it's called getting old) Mark gave us some words of wisdom.

"If you are having trouble breathing through your nose in this pose, open your mouth slightly so breathing is easier.  (Really?  Duh.  Thanks, Mark.)  Now, take these last few moments to review your life's journey.  Accept where you are, and work on bringing positivity to your life.  Place a positive exression on your face (as I laid there with a retarded smile on my face, in the dark)- and now in your heart.  Take the positivity with you for the rest of the evening, and your week, and your life (wow... for life??  That is a big committment for me Mark, let's just focus on the evening...)"

So, in closing, I say Namaste, which means That which is of God in me sees that which is of God in you.
Good luck on finding your inner peace this week :)
