Current Mood: Optimistic
Goal: ONE soda this week… ONLY
Weekly Wisdom: I can’t change how other people behave… but I can change how I react to the behavior of others
Busted a mission last night... the Orange Street Fair has become somewhat of a tradition for me. Every year, Labor Day weekend, the city of Orange shuts down the round-a-bout at the intersection of Glassell and Chapman and they have food, drink, music, and shopping. We discovered this Amazing event about 4 years ago and have been going back ever since. But it isn't the amazingly delisious treats, the ice cold margaritas, the hot musicians, or the shopping that keeps us coming back. It is a simple pleasure that has us addicted. 2 words. Kettle Corn. I know, I know, I know... lame right? NOT!! I've had my share of kettle corn, and I love the sweet and salty goodness... but the booth at the Orange Fair has, literally, THE BEST kettle corn in the world. I am not kidding.
I have sleeping issues. It sucks. I've been dealing with it for about 2 years now, and last week I went to the doctor (again) to get help... the coversation went like this (and I quote)...
Dr: So Allison, What seems to be the problem?
Me: Well, I have this problem with my sleeping. I don't do it. Like ever.
Dr: Well, let's be real. Obviously you sleep sometimes, because you are still alive. (Thanks for being a smartass, Doctor, I really appreciate it)
Me: Ha. Ha. Ha.
Dr: So, tell me, what is it that you to do put yourself to sleep?
Me: Nyquil, Benadryl, or I drink half a bottle of wine (I was kidding about the wine)
Dr: Hmmmm...
***Awkward Silence***
Dr: Well...
***More awkward silence***
Dr: I have a little bit of an issue with one of those options (wait for it...) I think you should skip the wine. (WHAT?! But the drugs are okay???) Alcohol has many other benefits, (really? That is not what my high school health instructors preached) but sleeping isn't one of them.
Me: *Blank Stare*
Dr: So... if they Nyquil and Benadryl are working for you, (pats me on the knee like a 5 year old) I would stick with that! And, maybe start working out in the mornings instead of afternoons.
End of converstaion
So... on the recomendation of my doctor, I'm skipping the booze and hitting the gym! Peace!
